Duke Novak LCSW has worked with children and their parents for over 20 years in educational and therapeutic environments. Inspired by the work of D.W. Winnicott, Duke is dedicated to creating “holding” environments and reliable, trusting relationships to help support his clients in managing behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges. Duke also allows the client’s transformation by examining long-held beliefs that may not serve the client’s best interest.
Duke has studied under the tutelage of Dr. Jeffrey Hutter out of UCLA, who also taught him the power of mindfulness practice. Mindfulness practice is another therapeutic modality that can lessen anxiety, stress, and depression and make a client’s life more present-centered and meaningful. Duke specializes in working with children and their parents, but is open to working with all individuals, couples, and families. Duke is currently finishing his doctorate in Social Work at Aurora University.
